Legalization of BHP (Badan Hukum Pendidikan)

Well, this term is no longer displeasing in our ears. BHP is one of government policy in education, particularly in university either private or states universities. It means that the donation from government to each university will be taken off. Consequently, university should earn their institution independently in order to maintain their existences in education point a view, for instance by making corporation with private companies in a special program depending on the field the companies working on. Or another way is, to raise the tuition fees of students.

It seems this policy is refused by most students (probably all students). Thus, they make demonstration in Main Street, caused the streets blocked and traffic jam. To stabilize the demonstration, security officers (police) actively monitor the demonstration. But, we don’t know what the reason is, there is conflict between students and police officer. Consequently, some of those demonstrators get injury and must be kept in hospital couple of days.  This reaction from students shows us that they cannot accept that policy. They think that if the tuition fee is raised, it then just make some students break off their study. It sounds very tragic. And, the only ones who can go to university are students from middle-up class families. It is not fair. 

But, the institution side claims that by legalizing this BHP, all the infrastructure and tools including the teacher staffs in university will be better than before. So, the students will be more comfortable in studying. But, the students think that’s only promise and impossible to be come true. 

So, here some points you are going to discuss:

Ø  What is your opinion about BHP?

Ø  Do you think it will bring advantages?

Ø  Or it just brings disadvantages for the students?

Ø  Do you think by legalizing this BPH, the lecturers will be more active giving lectures in class?

Ø  Do you think all the teaching and learning facilities will be comfortable after legalizing this policy?

Ø  So, which one do you agree pro legalizing of BHP or contra legalizing of BHP?
